In Designing Better Futures, Mike McAllum's second book, he describes how we are colliding with a set of trends and disruptions, that signal the end of the Age of Progress. He suggests that our increasing dependence on more and more resources to create value puts us on a collision path with a planet ill equipped to meet such demands. Mike contends that future success will come from redesigning, rethinking, and thus navigating organisations, and communities away from the collision point. Those that do, he argues, will create more sustainable value, and levels of prosperity, than those that don’t. The smart money for individuals, organisations and society is now focused on the race towards an Age of Sustainable Design.
